Eleven Kinds of Loneliness, 2026
Continuing from the theme of superficial scenes of monotony, this piece takes its title from the novel by Richard Yates. The idea originally stemmed from reading Jen Beagin’s novels and her use of female agency in privacy made me think of a dollhouse. Women and dollhouses are linked in many ways, but for this piece it is in the context of picking up things and placing them elsewhere, regardless of emotion or purpose.
